My first ever ID tournament
Friday, June 10th, 2005….was a disaster? …was a fluke? ….was a complete humiliation of my ID driving skills?
haaaay….here i was…expecting exhibition games @ sm southmall one gud saturday afternun. bought around 50 tokens (4php/token) then redied myself for some serious battles. as i approach the machine, i saw what may a hardcore ID fan myself would consider a lucky day! the machine was packed with players! i thought "uy! swerte! daming kalaban!"….i never imagined what would happen next would ACTUALLY happen!
as i was waiting for my chance to play (and hopefully mercilessly kick the shit out of some of the players), i was suddenly approached by this skinny black guy with long hair (masyadong descriptive no?) then asked me, "ikaw si Z1 no?" (Z1 is my cardname and I was infamous to the Philippine ID players including the top Philippine ID team TOFU….thanks to my ‘friends’ at sm sucat….blabbermouth! ^__^) i said "yup…bakit?". he then answered by "mga taga sm fairview yang mga nasa kabilang seat…naki2pagchallenge sming mga taga southmall". sbi ko "aaaa…o e ano ngayn?" (sungit no?) "kulang kasi kami ng players e…biglaan kasi ang challenge nitong mga to…samin ka n lng muna, ok lang?" he was almost begging me to join their team. well, it was an ego boost for me, considering they taught i can make a good contribution for their team. hehe…
so they told me to pick a car i would like to use to battle the other team….of course i chose my black RX-8 which is by far my best battle car. little did i know the irony of the whole thing. u see, when i battle i prefer it raining…my RX-8 loves the wet asphalt and its easier to control. they told me i was the first battler…usui (my favorite course)…and the weather condition would be dry. DRY? DRY? i told them its practicaly suicide! my RX-8 doesnt respond well to the grippy asphalt! its a sure lose situation! they told me its alright since this is just a friendly battle….friendly battle my ass! easy for them to say, they r not d one hu would have a hard time. they also told me that its the tournament rules…all battles would be on dry. WHAT???? Had I known there to be a rule system, I wouldn’t opt for my RX-8…my FD or EVO can do a better job! they also told me that once i picked a car, i wont be allowed to use other cars. NOW they tell me….*sigh*
well, to make a long story short, my poor RX-8 lost ALL tournament battles that day! huhuhu! it ddnt really boost my ego u knw. haaay….nwei after that stupid tournament i challenged every player still present there and kicked their sorry ass in rain battles! i dont care if they are from fairview, southmall or even pampanga players! (yes there are ID players @ pampanga) I juz challenged them all so that my ego wont be completely shattered that day….
lesson of the story: ask rules first before joining any stupid tournament! ^___^
