Amusing and Ironic
Monday, December 19th, 2005Isn’t it funny sometimes that people tend to vent out things to other people rather than vent out by doing productive activities like sports or hobbies? Or is it more of irony? Most of the time when a person is frustrated or tired of something, his first option is to bottle it up. Keep it for himself until the time comes when he cant cope with it anymore. There’s a certain advantage to this. He does this to avoid conflict, control his emotions for the time being, and let his logical mind work thru the problem. But the disadvantage of this eclipses the situation as a whole. When the logical mind cant cope with it either, or it cant come up with a solution…emotions are now the ones running the show. And when emotions are in control, disastrous things usually happen or things much worse than the original problem happens.
Personally, I tend to vent it out by doing the things I like. Too bad for the people who doesn’t have any hobby or anything interesting to do with their lives. But for me, gaming usually works. Either ps2 or arcade can cool down my systems to a point where I dont consider the whole issue a problem anymore. Its more like a nuisance…a nuisance I can forget and skip thru my life. Yes, in some ways its not a proper solution. But surprisingly, in that state, I think more clearly and decide on a solution that didnt cross my mind earlier on that point.
What I find amusing with people is that they "talk" to someone about their problems. Its usually right after the problem began that that person starts to immediately talk to someone. The amusing part is that the problematic one doesn’t want a solution from the listener, just someone who listens. For the lazy listener, its a no-brainer. Listen and forget. But for the active listener, he or she will devise a separate solution in his/her mind and tries to convince the problematic one to use that solution. But that wont work since the one talking doesn’t want to listen but only to talk. Thus frustration sets in for the helpless listener. And now we have two frustrated persons resulting from one frustration. See? Amusing and ironic.
Mix in the topic of friendship and relationship…then you’ll get a problem larger than the original one. Yes…amusing and ironic.
